Northville Downs horse races cancelled due to poor track conditions caused by adverse weather

DETROIT, Jan. 27, 2024 — The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has granted Northville Downs’ request to cancel live horse races scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 27 due to poor track conditions caused by adverse weather.

Like yesterday, MGCB stewards have investigated the track and advised that it is unstable and unsafe. As a result, it was determined that tonight’s scheduled races should be cancelled to ensure the safety of the horses, participants, and associated racing personnel.

Under Section 12(4) of the Horse Racing Law of 1995 (HRL), live racing days can be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
