A New Beginning: Quarterly Newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of the Michigan Human Trafficking Commission newsletter.
Human trafficking is a rising crisis. We are committed to keeping the public informed and educated. We also want to highlight important agencies and nonprofits. These organizations assist and support survivors. They also help prosecute traffickers.
Change-Maker Spotlight: ACP
The Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) launched in September 2023. This program provides participants with a substitute address that can be used instead of their real one. This address can be given whenever public agencies require an address. Public agencies include government entities, employers, and schools.
The ACP offers free online training. The training is for anyone interested in becoming a certified ACP application assistant. You can also train to become a victim advocate. Learn how to help those in need of the ACP’s services.
Please visit ACP's webpage if you or someone at your agency would like to participate.

Advocacy Cocktail Hour
Underground Railroad, Inc.
Saginaw’s Underground Railroad hosted their first Advocacy Cocktail Hour. The event was in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It was an evening full of meaningful connections.
The evening provided many opportunities for community education, growth, and strengthening support systems. Survivors shared their experiences. We learned how communities can better support victims and survivors of sexual assault.
Together, we can better serve individuals seeking help and safety.
