The Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission, stands as a beacon of advocacy, inclusion and celebration for Michigan's diverse LGBTQ+ community. The commission's charge is to ensure equal representation, amplify voices and foster a state where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feels affirmed and valued.
The 15-member council will advise the department on issues relating to the Arab and Chaldean communities in Michigan and promote awareness of their culture and history

Saif Alsenad serves as the Director of Government and Public Affairs for Wayne County, where he leads the execution of the county’s state legislative agenda and manages strategic outreach with elected officials. With extensive experience in legislative affairs, Saif has successfully advanced key initiatives in transit, infrastructure, and public policy. His expertise in building coalitions and fostering collaboration has been instrumental in securing critical appropriations and driving impactful legislation. Saif holds a bachelor’s degree from Madonna University and an associate degree from Henry Ford. Recognized for his contributions, he has received the NAACP Western Wayne Trailblazer of the Year Award and was named one of Arab America’s 40 Under 40. He also serves on the Wayne County Executive’s Millennial Advisory Board and several other community boards.
