Angel Gomez, Saginaw County
Angel Gomez is a Clinical Social Worker, community advocate, and Chair of the Latino Caucus of the Saginaw Democratic Party. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University and is a proud graduate of Chesaning Union High School. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, Angel is deeply committed to advancing equity, access, and justice for underserved and marginalized communities.
In his clinical work, Angel provides trauma-informed, strengths-based services to children, adults, families, and couples. He takes a holistic approach to mental health care, recognizing the intersection of emotional well-being, family systems, and the social and structural barriers that impact individuals and communities. His work is grounded in cultural humility, empowerment, and advocacy.
Beyond his clinical practice, Angel is actively engaged in community leadership and civic advocacy. He serves as a board member of the Mexican American Council and the Saginaw Public School Foundation, where he supports initiatives focused on education, youth development, and community empowerment. As Chair of the Latino Caucus of the Saginaw Democratic Party, Angel works to elevate underrepresented voices, promote civic engagement, and advocate for policies that strengthen families and communities.
Angel lives in Saginaw County with his wife, Alicia, their three children, two cats, and two dogs. His professional and advocacy work is driven by a strong belief in collective care, resilience, and the power of community-led change.
