Gladys Picó Gleason, Kent County

Gladys M. Picó Gleason, BSN, RN is the Clinical Manager of Corewell Health's Diagnostic Lung Mass Clinic and Betty Ford Breast Care Services in Grand Rapids, MI.  She has worked in the field of nursing since 2011 and has served in a variety of community health settings in Kent County, Michigan including at Trinity Health’s Clinica Santa Maria, and Corewell Health’s Healthier Communities. During this time, she has championed chronic disease prevention in marginalized communities and remains deeply committed to advancing health equity.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Gladys helped lead Community Partner Vaccine Clinics in collaboration with the Kent County Health Department.  These clinics were strategically placed within trusted locations in the heart of neighborhoods that saw the greatest health inequities leading to a disproportionate amount of Covid related deaths.  

Gladys has served on multiple boards and advisory committees including the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Latino Health Care Executives, the Michigan Center for Contextual Factors in Alzheimer's Disease Latino Healthcare Professionals Steering Committee, advisory council at Safe Haven Ministries, board member of the Puerto Rican Cultural Committee of West Michigan and President of the No Surrender Running Club, a non-profit, multigenerational community that promotes physical and emotional health and positive youth development in communities with significant social determinants of health barriers through movement.  Gladys is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Davenport University.
