The Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission, stands as a beacon of advocacy, inclusion and celebration for Michigan's diverse LGBTQ+ community. The commission's charge is to ensure equal representation, amplify voices and foster a state where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feels affirmed and valued.
The 15-member council will advise the department on issues relating to the Arab and Chaldean communities in Michigan and promote awareness of their culture and history

Annum Ghayas serves as Finance Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan (BCBS MI). She has held significant roles, including the Finance Intern Committee Chair, and was instrumental in founding the Asian Pacific Employee Resource Network at Blue Cross. As a 1.5 generation Pakistani and multilingual professional, Annum brings wealth of experience in managing cross-functional teams, addressing complex issues, and advocating for community initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University. In 2017, Annum was honored by Diversity MBA as one of the Top 100 under 50 Diverse Emerging Leaders.
