Pellston Regional Airport townhall
The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) will host a public meeting about the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) investigation at/near Pellston Regional Airport. A MPART representative will share information about MPART and an overview of PFAS, which are a large group of human-made substances used in manufacturing, firefighting, and consumer products.
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will provide information about possible health effects related to PFAS exposure. A representative from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy will provide an overview of PFAS investigation at/near Pellston Regional Airport, PFAS data gathered, and next steps. Health Department of Northwest Michigan, the Village of Pellston, Emmet County, and Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians will be available to provide updates and answer questions. Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions after the presentations.
Individuals needing language assistance or accommodations for effective participation at the meeting should contact Kelly Ploehn at PloehnK@Michigan.gov or 517-897-4670 two weeks in advance to the scheduled meeting to request language, mobility, visual, hearing, translation, and/or other assistance.
