Background
Stroh Parking Structure, located at 2935 Wright Street and 261 McDougall Street, was a former foundry/plating facility from approximately 1922 through 1953. EGLE reviewed a Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA) that was conducted in April 2021 due to a potential property ownership transfer. The BEA included two temporary well groundwater samples, one of which exceeded groundwater clean-up criteria with a result of 13 ppt PFOA and 51 ppt PFOS. EGLE will continue to evaluate this site in light of other investigations in the immediate vicinity.
The Detroit River is located approximately 1,000 feet south of the impacted temporary well.
The entire area is provided municipal water through Great Lakes Water Authority.
