Treasury student internships are paid, typically hybrid opportunities, located in Michigan, and designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with work experience and direct exposure to career opportunities in public service. Internships at Treasury give students an opportunity for:

What Does an Intern Do?
While duties and responsibilities will vary by the needs of the Bureau and Division that an intern is placed in, examples of potential duties include:
- Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas and feedback to discussion
- Collaborating with team members to prepare various reports, presentations, and other documents
- Gathering and analyzing information for sound decision-making
- Attending training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
- Performing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document management
- Assisting staff with other various functions of the bureau or division
Who Can Intern at Treasury
Is Treasury only for Finance and Accounting? Not quite. Treasury has several bureaus that perform a variety of work. We seek students who are interested in learning about a career in public service and are from a broad range of fields and studies such as:
- Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Public Policy)
- Business and Law (Business Management, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications/Journalism, Legal Studies/Law)
