LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer today appointed longtime education and economics policymaker, Doug Ross, as the senior advisor for Michigan prosperity.
“If we’re going to ensure Michigan’s success, we have to take a proactive approach to building talent and fostering an attractive environment for businesses to create jobs,” Whitmer said. “I’m excited to work with Doug to build a state where more businesses move to for opportunity.”
As the senior advisor for Michigan prosperity, Ross will be responsible for analyzing future business trends to ensure Michigan is prepared for the next generation of economic growth. Additionally, he will work with the governor to improve workforce talent and educational attainment to meet the needs of businesses now, and create a nation-leading economic development strategy to attract future businesses.
