Gov. Whitmer Makes Appointments, Reappointments
– Gov. Gretchen Whitmer today announced the following appointments and reappointments to the Utility Consumer Participation Board, Michigan Trails Advisory Council, and Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards.LANSING, Mich.
Utility Consumer Participation Board
Bali Kumar of Detroit, is CEO of Lean & Green Michigan. Mr. Kumar has been appointed to succeed Brian Vilmont for a term expiring January 13, 2021.
Paul Isely, Ph.D. of Grand Rapids, is the associate dean and economic professor for the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Isely has been reappointed for term expiring January 13, 2021.
James MacInnes of Beulah, is President and co-owner of Crystal Mountain. Mr. MacInnes has been reappointed for a term expiring January 13, 2021.
Samuel Passmore of Ann Arbor, is the environment program director for the C.S. Mott Foundation. Mr. Passmore has been reappointed for a term expiring January 13, 2021.
The Utility Consumer Participation Board provides grants to qualified applicants that represent the interests of Michigan's residential energy (gas, electric, and other fuel) utility customers at residential energy proceedings before the Michigan Public Service Commission. Funding is generated through annual assessments of certain regulated utility companies.

Michigan Trails Advisory Council
Peggy Jean McCaughn of White Pine, is the business development manager of Innovative Components, Inc. and the creator of the Western Michigan UP Snowmobile Coalition. Ms. McCaughn has been appointed to succeed James Duke to represent snowmobile owners and Upper Peninsula residents for a term expiring January 17, 2023.

Michigan Trails Advisory Council was created to advise the Department of Natural Resources on creation, development, operation, and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized trails in the state, including, but not limited to, snowmobile, biking, equestrian, hiking, off-road vehicle, and skiing trails.

Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards
Michael Sauger of Sterling Heights, is the state president and executive director of Michigan Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Sauger has been appointed to succeed David Hiller who has resigned representing the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police for a term expiring December 31, 2021.
The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) executes its statutory responsibility to promote public safety in Michigan by setting standards for selection, employment, licensing, license revocation, and funding in law enforcement and criminal justice, in both the public and private sectors. Under its authority, MCOLES provides leadership and support to the criminal justice community throughout Michigan.
This appointment is subject to advice and consent of the Senate.
