Gov. Whitmer Makes Appointments to MEDC Executive Committee
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation Executive Committee. LANSING, Mich.–
“The MEDC is a tremendous partner in our mission to build a stronger economy and create more good-paying jobs across the state,” said Whitmer. “These leaders all understand that if we want to help our businesses compete and make Michigan a home for opportunity, then we need to get serious about attracting a talented workforce and improving our infrastructure. It’s time to get to work and get it done.”
Fay Beydoun of Dearborn, is the executive director of American Arab Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Beydoun is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2020.
Kyle D. Caldwell of Rockford, is the president and chief executive officer of the Council of Michigan Foundations. Mr. Caldwell is appointed to represent philanthropy for a term expiring April 5, 2026.
Kwesi A. Cobbina of Detroit, is the vice president of business affairs for the Detroit Pistons. Mr. Cobbina is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2026.
April Clobes of Bath, is the president and chief executive officer of Michigan State University Credit Union. Ms. Clobes is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2020.
Jeffrey M. Donofrio of Detroit, is the executive director of workforce for the City of Detroit. Mr. Donofrio is appointed to represent public entities for a term expiring April 5, 2024.
Krista Flynn of Ada, is the regional president of Chemical Bank. Ms. Flynn is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2024.
Mayor Bobby J. Hopewell of Kalamazoo, is the mayor of the City of Kalamazoo. Mayor Hopewell is appointed to represent public entities for a term expiring April 5, 2020.
Thomas D. Lutz of Garden City, is the president of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters. Mr. Lutz is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2024.
Bill Pink, Ph. D. of Ada, is the president of Grand Rapids Community College. Dr. Pink is appointed to represent public entities for a term expiring April 5, 2023.
Philip W. Shaltz of Fenton, is the president and chief executive officer of Shaltz Automotive. Mr. Shaltz is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2020.
Ryan N. Waddington of Dexter, is the founder and partner of the Huron River Venture Company. Mr. Waddington is appointed to represent businesses for a term expiring April 5, 2024.
