Gov. Whitmer Signs Bills to Designate Highway to Fallen Solider
LANSING, Mich. -- Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed Senate Bill 169 in honor of Army Sergeant First Class Michael Cathcart.
“I am honored to sign this bill to commemorate a part of Michigan to Sergeant Michael Cathcart,” said Whitmer. “As the recipient of three Bronze Star Medals, two Purple Heart Medals and four Army Commendation Medals I am grateful for his service and sacrifice to Michigan and the United States.
Senate Bill 169 designates the section of M-15 highway between Cass Avenue Road and Ridge Road as the “Army Sergeant First Class Michael Cathcart Memorial Highway” in honor of his service and bravery. The bill is sponsored by Senator Kevin Daley, R-Lapeer.
