Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist's Statement on Secure MI Vote
LANSING, Mich. - Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II issued the following statement after the Board of Canvassers approved the Secure MI Vote petition.
"Secure MI Vote is anti-democracy and anti-American. We must stand together against this and any attempts to make it more difficult or confusing for Michiganders to vote.
"Every Michigan voter, regardless of who they vote for or what party they belong to, should be offended and angered by this deceitful effort to change the rules just because some people did not like the results of the 2020 election.
"This is a dishonest effort that is wrong for Michigan. Its purpose is to make voting harder, and create additional, complicated burdens on election workers whose effort and professionalism just delivered the most secure, accessible, and high-turnout election in our state's history."
