WHEREAS, for decades, the work of nannies has made it possible for countless children to receive individualized and compassionate care, helping children to grow and mature while surrounded by dedicated individuals; and,
WHEREAS, nannies work tirelessly to abide by a professional standard of excellence in caring for children and are diligent to their profession in order to ensure the safety of the children they care for; and,
WHEREAS, these caregivers foster a learning atmosphere that is constructive to emotional growth and tailored to the specific needs of each child they care for; and,
WHEREAS, on this day, we recognize the devotion, generosity, and assistance nannies provide to the children they care for;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim September 22-28, 2019, as Nanny Appreciation Week in Michigan.
