WHEREAS, our courageous men and women in our armed forces have selflessly put the defense of the United States of America ahead of their own personal safety and comfort; and,
WHEREAS, it is vital to help support the fallen and disabled members of our armed forces and their families, and to honor veterans of all wars and acknowledge their sacrifice; and,
WHEREAS, golf courses across the nation host Tee It Up for the Troops events to raise funds and awareness in support and honor of the service of members of our armed forces, veterans and their families; and,
WHEREAS, Tee It Up for the Troops has been able to help thousands of our men and women in the United States Military as well as their families through the generosity of grateful Americans who have stepped up to the tee; and,
WHEREAS, Tee It Up for the Troops continues to support and thank those who serve and have served on our behalf and will continue to advocate for programs that enhance the lives of members of our armed forces;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim June 19, 2021 as Tee It Up for the Troops Day in Michigan.
