WHEREAS, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, there are more than 4.1 million administrative assistants, secretaries, executive assistants, and office managers working in our nation today; and,
WHEREAS, because of their discipline and organizational skills, administrative professionals contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of any office environment; and,
WHEREAS, since 1952, Administrative Professionals Week and Day has been officially recognized and celebrated and is one of the largest workplace observances in the U.S.; and,
WHEREAS, during this week, we join with employers throughout the Great Lakes State to recognize the many contributions of Michigan's administrative professionals, thanking them for their outstanding service to business, government, educational institutions and other organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 23-29, 2022, as Administrative Professionals Week.
