WHEREAS, the University of Michigan and Michigan State University football teams have met 114 times; and,
WHEREAS, while Michigan leads the head-to-head series overall 71-38-5, Michigan State has won ten of the last fourteen match-ups; and,
WHEREAS, the Spartans will take the spirit of the Woodshed with them as they travel to the Big House to take on the Wolverines on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. EST; and,
WHEREAS, Spartan teams are never beaten, and all through the game they'll fight; and,
WHEREAS, Tuck Comin’; and,
WHEREAS, OH HE HAS TROUBLE WITH THE SNAP; and,
WHEREAS, the Paul Bunyan trophy looks better in East Lansing; and,
WHEREAS, October 29th will no doubt be a beautiful day for football, even if it is in that other stadium; and,
WHEREAS, during this week, we encourage all Michiganders to embrace this historic rivalry and the high stakes this game surely represents for every family, but especially the houses divided;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 24-29, 2022, as Go Green! Week in Michigan.
