WHEREAS, reinforced concrete pipe and precast concrete products are of vital importance to communities and to the health, safety, and well-being of the people of the state of Michigan; and,
WHEREAS, reinforced concrete pipe and precast concrete products and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of the concrete pipe and precast concrete industry, the trucking industry, sand and rock producers, and cement producers; and,
WHEREAS, these industry professionals are responsible for designing, manufacturing, and distributing, concrete products to owners and contractors who design, construct, and maintain our transportation and storm drainage infrastructure, and our residential and commercial subdivisions that are crucial to the well-being of our state; and,
WHEREAS, 2023 marks the 116th year of the American Concrete Pipe Association, which began as a means of exchanging ideas and establishing a high-quality, standardized product, which the Concrete Pipe Association of Michigan fully supports in both actions and deeds;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim September 24-30, 2023, as Concrete Pipe Week in Michigan.
