WHEREAS, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) play a vital role in upholding financial transparency and accountability, thereby serving as trusted advisors to individuals, businesses, and government entities across the state of Michigan; and,
WHEREAS, CPAs contribute significantly to Michigan’s economic growth and stability by guiding taxpayers, supporting businesses, and ensuring integrity within financial practices that drive economic decision-making; and,
WHEREAS, The CPA profession upholds rigorous standards of education, examination, and ethical practice, fostering public trust through an unwavering commitment to accuracy, objectivity, and transparency; and,
WHEREAS, CPAs support Michigan’s future leaders by mentoring students and creating pathways for careers in accounting, thereby inspiring the next generation to join this essential profession;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of Michigan do hereby proclaim November 11-15, 2024, as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Week in Michigan.
