WHEREAS, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are food and nutrition experts who can translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living; and,
WHEREAS, RDNs have earned a degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field from an accredited college or university; and,
WHEREAS, RDNs have completed coursework specific to the field and an accredited supervised practice program and passed a national certification examination; and,
WHEREAS, RDNs are credentialed experts qualified to provide such information on good nutritional habits; and,
WHEREAS, RDNs work in hospitals and health care facilities, schools, community and public health settings, food and nutrition industries, universities, research areas, and private practices; and,
WHEREAS, RDNs use their expertise to help people lead healthier lives;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim March 12, 2025, as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day in Michigan.
