WHEREAS, women throughout Michigan continue to make significant contributions as entrepreneurs, professionals, leaders, and community builders, strengthening families, businesses, and communities across our state; and,
WHEREAS, WiHERed was founded to create opportunities for women to recognize their value, strengthen their voice, develop personally and professionally, and walk confidently in their authority through community, education, and meaningful connections; and,
WHEREAS, WiHERed Day was established in Michigan as a day to recognize and celebrate the leadership, resilience, innovation, and economic contributions of women in real estate, business, entrepreneurship, and community leadership; and,
WHEREAS, WiHERed Day encourages women to rise above fear and limitations, use their voices, pursue opportunities, build sustainable businesses and careers, and create lasting impact within their families and communities; and,
WHEREAS, the 2026 WiHERed Day theme, “She Walks in Authority,” recognizes the importance of women understanding their value, embracing their voices, and confidently using their gifts, experiences, and expertise to lead and positively impact others; and,
WHEREAS, WiHERed Day brings together women from across Michigan for education, connection, recognition, and opportunities designed to strengthen their personal and professional development; and,
WHEREAS, recognizing WiHERed Day on the first Saturday of October provides an annual opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of women while encouraging continued leadership, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and community impact throughout Michigan;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the first Saturday of October, as WiHERed Day in Michigan and encourage Michiganders to recognize and celebrate the contributions, leadership, and impact of women throughout our state.
