The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, to consider the possible commutation of sentence of Edward Allen, #147678. It will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Handlon, Richard A. Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.
Edward Allen is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Assault With Intent to Rob while Armed, a 40y-60y sentence for the crime of Assault with Intent to Murder. He was sentenced on December 10, 1976 from Oakland County. Mr. Allen is serving a 1y4m-2y sentence for the crime of Attempted Larceny in a Building. He was sentenced on March 19, 1984 from Ionia County. Mr. Allen is also serving a 1y-2y sentence for the crime of Attempted Escape from Prison. He was sentenced on September 4, 1987 from Branch County.
The hearing is required under MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board.
