The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 to consider the possible parole of Jose Daniel Mares, #135943. It will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Handlon Training Center; Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan.
Jose Daniel Mares is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Murder 2nd Degree. He was sentenced on July 23, 1973 out of Ottawa County.
Thomas R. Combs, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.

The Michigan Department of Corrections harvested over 100,000 pounds of fresh food through various horticulture training programs and recreational gardens.
The Northern Region John Davids Recruit Academy Class graduation took place on Nov. 20 at Lake Superior State University and recognized 48 new officers.
