A public hearing to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Ather Butris

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Friday, November 2, 2018 to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Ather Butris. It will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Grandview Plaza Building, Lansing, Michigan.
Ather Butris was sentenced to a term of 2 Years Probation, Shall Not Use or Possess Any Firearms and $600 F/C/R (Fines/Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Possession of Loaded Firearm in Motor Vehicle. Mr. Butris was also sentenced to a term of 18 Months Probation and $1,100 F/C/R (Fines/Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Tobacco Products Tax Act Violation. He was sentenced on October 17, 1988 and November 9, 1995 from Oakland County.
Brian J. Shipman, Member of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole Board.
This hearing is required by state law prior to consideration of any pardon by the Governor.
Capacity at the public hearing venue is limited; admittance will be on a first come, first serve basis.
