Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center to Host Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial and Ceremony on July 12

LANSING, Mich. — Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center (CGJMTC), in collaboration with the Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG) Survivor Outreach Services Team, will display a Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial and host a ceremony to honor fallen service members on July 12 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include remarks by Brig. Gen. Ravindra Wagh, assistant adjutant general and commander of the MIARNG, and a performance of Taps. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.

MIARNG Survivor Outreach Services coordinators will be at the Camp Grayling front entrance from July 13-18 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to assist families interested in participating in the Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial. The event is open to all branches of the military and the team is asking the public to bring one combat boot per fallen service member to be displayed outside the entrance to Camp Grayling. If you do not have a boot, one will be provided. This memorial is open to any service member or veteran who has passed, not just in combat. The MIARNG Survivor Outreach Services Team will supply a flag and one name tag per boot. The boots may be decorated and will be displayed from July 13 - Aug. 3 and must be picked up by Aug. 3. More information is available at 2025 Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial.
