Michigan Military & Veterans Gala to Recognize Service Members and Veterans

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan will hold its fifth annual Military & Veterans Gala Nov. 8 from 6 – 11 p.m. at the Fort Pontchartrain Hotel located at 2 Washington Blvd. in Detroit. The formal event is a celebration of Michigan’s National Guard members, veterans and advocates.

In addition to music, dancing and food, the night will include the presentation of awards in seven categories including Veteran-Friendly Volunteer of the Year, Veteran Service Provider of the Year, Community Outreach and Regional Engagement Award, Michigan Army National Guard Recruiter of the Year, Michigan Air National Guard Recruiter of the Year, DMVA Employee of the Year and VA Employee of the Year.

“We are deeply honored to host this year’s gala, a distinguished occasion celebrating the exceptional service and accomplishments of Soldiers, Airmen, veterans and advocates who have answered the call to serve our nation,” said U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul D. Rogers, adjutant general and director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. “This event also pays tribute to the steadfast commitment of military families and caregivers, whose enduring support sustains our service members and strengthens every mission.”

Hosted by the National Guard Association of Michigan, in proud partnership with the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, this year’s gala is shaping up to be a landmark event you’ll be talking about for years to come.
