Job Submissions and Listings

Michigan Law Enforcement Job Opportunities

As of July 2026, the State of Michigan (SOM) requires all PDF documents posted on SOM websites to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards. To support this requirement and ensure timely processing of job postings, the Commission has updated its submission guidelines.

  • Submission Requirements and Duration

    Submission Requirements

    • Word documents will not be accepted.
    • All job postings must be submitted as an ADA-compliant PDF.

    Submission Duration

    • To ensure job postings remain current, accurate, and relevant:
    • All job postings must include a closing date.
    • Job postings labeled “Until Filled” will not be accepted without a closing date.
    • Job postings may remain posted for up to one year from the opening date.
    • December 31, 2026, is the latest allowable closing date for any currently submitted job posting.
    • Positions extending beyond December 31, 2026, should be resubmitted with an updated posting as needed.

These requirements help maintain an accurate, streamlined, and up-to-date job board while ensuring compliance with SOM accessibility standards. For your convenience, instructions are provided, below, for using Microsoft Word’s Accessibility Checker before converting your document to PDF. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
