July 2, 2025: PSAA II Important Update

Dear Law Enforcement Community,

As of July 2, 2025, the Commission has received 491 Public Safety Academy Assistance (PSAA) – Appropriation II applications from 204 agencies totaling $9,611,681.10 in requested funds. There is $388,318.90 remaining in grant funding. As such, we expect the PSAA – Appropriation II funds will be exhausted sometime during the week of July 7, 2025.

As we close out this chapter, please follow the protocols below:

• Submit all applications you have in your possession as soon as possible. Only complete applications will be processed (i.e., signed application, Candidate New Hire Affidavit, invoices for additional recruit expenses).

• Notify MCOLES immediately if an employed recruit, funded by the PSAA-Appropriation II grant, is dismissed from the academy (in addition to normal reporting procedures).

• The employing agency shall use the attached form to officially notify MCOLES of the dismissal of a grant funded recruit.
