MDCR investigates complaints to determine whether unlawful discrimination has occurred. While investigating a complaint, MDCR is impartial and does not act as an advocate or representative for either party.
The Managing Attorney and MDCR staff attorneys serve as legal advisors to all MDCR organizational units.

Providers must seek qualified Michigan certified interpreters eligible to work in Standard Level 2 settings with a Medical/Mental Health Endorsement. Providers should engage in an interactive process with the individual who requests the accommodation in order to ensure effective communication is achieved.
Providers may search the Online Interpreter System for qualified interpreters.
