Warren, MI - The Michigan Civil Rights Commission (MCRC) meeting for January 28, 2019 at Macomb Community College has been postponed due to the location being closed on account of expected inclement weather.

The meeting has been rescheduled for Feb. 1, 2019 starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Detroit Offices of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, Cadillac Place, 3054 West Grand Boulevard, Suite 3-600, Detroit, MI 48202.

The Commission is expected to take action on a proposed resolution asking the Attorney General to reconsider AG Formal Opinion 7305 issued in July 2018 pertaining to the Commission’s authority to interpret the Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act to encompass discrimination because of gender identity and sexual orientation.
