Detroit Casino Revenues and Wagering Taxes For April 2014

Casino Operations – April 2014
Aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos for the month ended April 30, 2014 was down by 6.5% when compared to the same month last year. Revenue was down by 10.1% when compared to the previous month, March 2014. For year to date April 30, 2014, the aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos was down by 6.0% compared to the same period last year.
Revenue for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown was down by 4.1% to $47.0 million, 3.8% to $38.2 million, and 13.6% to $27.1 million, respectively, when compared to April 2013.
The market shares for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown for April 2014 were 42%, 34%, and 24%, respectively.
For the month ended April 30, 2014, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $9.1 million compared to $9.7 million for the same period last year.
