Michigan Gaming Control order expands Northville Downs weekend race days
July 27, 2015
Detroit – The Michigan Gaming Control Board today issued an order allowing Northville Downs to host standardbred races on Fridays and Saturdays from Aug. 14 through Nov. 14.
Northville Downs will offer 28 additional days of live horse racing this year requested by the track and the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association. The track also ran live standardbred racing for 43 dates between February and July 2015.
“Today’s actions update a June 16 order allowing Northville Downs to race Wednesdays and Thursdays and switch to weekends once Hazel Park Raceway completed its meet,” said MGCB Executive Director Richard Kalm. “Under the new order, we will have live harness racing every Friday and Saturday from mid-August through mid-November.”
Simulcasting schedules at Northville Downs and Hazel Park Raceway remain unchanged through the end of the year.
