DETROIT, June 13, 2017 - The three Detroit casinos’ aggregate monthly revenue rose 1.2 percent in May when compared with May 2016 results. Revenue at $120 million was down a fractional 0.9 percent when compared with April revenue.
Year-to-date aggregate revenue is 1.7 percent higher than results for the same period last year.
Revenue rose at MotorCity and Greektown casinos, but results were down at MGM Grand Detroit compared with May 2016. MotorCity revenue climbed 4.2 percent to $40.7 million, and Greektown was up 4.1 percent to $28.8 million. MGM revenue fell 2.7 percent to $50.5 million.

The three Detroit casinos paid $9.7 million in gaming taxes to the state of Michigan compared with $9.6 million for the same period last year.
The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $14.3 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city of Detroit during May.
