Detroit casino revenues and wagering taxes reported for April 2018

Detroit, May 7, 2018 - The three Detroit casinos reported $124 million in aggregate monthly revenue during April, which was 2.5 percent higher than April 2017 results. April revenue was 10.5 percent lower than the all-time aggregate monthly revenue record of $138.6 million set in March. Year-to-date aggregate revenue of $484 million was a fractional 0.6 percent greater than revenue for the first four months of last year.
Compared with April 2017, monthly revenue increased for both MGM and MotorCity. MGM revenue was up 3.2 percent to $51.2 million. MotorCity revenue rose 3.7 percent to $43.7 million. Greektown revenue declined a fractional 0.5 percent to $29.1 million.

During April, the three Detroit casinos paid $10 million in gaming taxes to the State of Michigan compared with $9.8 million paid during April 2017.
The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $14.8 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during April.
