Detroit casino revenues and wagering taxes reported for January 2019

Detroit, Feb. 13, 2019 - The three Detroit casinos reported $112 million in aggregate revenue during January for a fractional 0.5 percent year-over-year increase. The casinos’ revenue fell 12.1 percent compared with December 2018 results.
MGM’s monthly revenue at $48.9 million increased 2.5 percent compared with January 2018 results. MotorCity revenue fell 1.5 percent to $37.4 million, and Greektown recorded a slight 0.1 percent decline to $25.7 million compared with monthly results from a year ago.

The state of Michigan received $9.08 million in gaming taxes from the three casinos during January compared with $9.03 million paid in January 2018.
The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $13.3 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city of Detroit during January.
