Detroit casinos report slight year-over-year aggregate revenue decline in July

Detroit, Aug. 14, 2019 - The Detroit casinos reported July aggregate revenue of $119 million, which fell a fractional 0.3 percent below July 2018 results but was 1.3 percent higher than June 2019 aggregate revenue. Year-to-date aggregate revenue of $854 million is a fractional 0.8 percent higher than January through July 2018 aggregate revenue.
MGM Grand recorded a 1.5 percent increase over July 2018 results with monthly aggregate revenue of $51.7 million. MotorCity Casino earned $40.7 million in aggregate revenue for a fractional 0.3 percent increase over the same month last year. Greektown reported a 4.3 percent year-over-year decline for July with $26.6 million in revenue.

The three Detroit casinos paid $9.64 million in state gaming taxes during July compared with $9.67 million paid during July 2018.
The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $14.2 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during July 2019.
