Problem Gambling Helpline and Resources

When individuals call 1-800-GAMBLER, they are connected to Michigan’s Problem Gambling Helpline, which provides 24/7 support and resources for those experiencing a gambling problem or who are concerned about someone they know. Trained professionals under contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) respond by phone or virtually, coordinate initial consultations with qualified counselors, offer information about financial assistance, and oversee ongoing treatment for clients when necessary.   • Gam-Anon For family members and friends of the compulsive gambler.
  • Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share experiences, strength and hope with each other.
  • National Council on Problem Gambling, a non-profit health agency, disseminates information about problem/compulsive gambling, and promotes the development of services.
