    The Archives of Michigan is located inside the Michigan Library and Historical Center at: 

    702 W. Kalamazoo St.
    Lansing, MI 48915

    Per DTMB Procedure 0210.11, all visitors to the Michigan Library and Historical Center building must wear a face mask. View the full face mask policy [PDF], which includes exemptions.

    Begining Tuesday, Sept. 7, the Archives of Michigan is open by appointment only on the following schedule:

    • Mondays through Fridays, 1 to 5 p.m.
    • Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Researchers may schedule appointments in advance using the research appointment form.

  • Collections at the Archives of Michigan include probate files, naturalization records, tax rolls, cemetery transcripts, local histories, circuit court case files, prison registries and other helpful records. Providing access to the public is a core function of the Archives of Michigan.
