Kick off the 150th anniversary of Tawas Point Lighthouse on National Lighthouse Day! Celebrate this milestone anniversary with us during a special event on Friday, August 7, from 12 to 5 p.m. Play yard games, create your own lighthouse craft, enjoy story book time with Iosco-Arenac District Library and visit with partner organizations. Plus, admission is waived for the day! Check out the lighthouse at no cost.
The celebration continues Saturday, August 8, with a Lee Murdock concert at the lighthouse pavilion from 7-9 p.m. Bring your picnic blankets, snacks and chairs to listen to the acclaimed Great Lakes musician and enjoy an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. Drawing from a boundless collection of Great Lakes history, songs and legends, Murdock brings the Great Lakes’ rich heritage to life through music.
