Lansing Resident Arrested for Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Frederick Haigh, 38 of Lansing, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Haigh was arrested following an investigation which was initiated when a cyber tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). A search warrant was conducted at Haigh’s residence where digital evidence was seized. 

Haigh was charged with three counts of aggravated child sexually abusive material - possession and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Haigh was arraigned in the 54-A District Court in Lansing on March 28. 

If convicted, Haigh faces up to 10 years in prison for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and up to 15 years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime.  

The MSP ICAC Task Force was assisted by the Lansing Police Department, Ann Arbor Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Michigan Department of Corrections.
