Snover Resident Arrested for Distribution of Child Sexually Abusive Material

SNOVER, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Dallas William Hartley, 22 of Snover, for crimes against nature, animal torture, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, aggravated child sexually abusive activity – distributing/promoting, using a computer to commit a crime, and unauthorized access - computer.
Hartley was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Hartley was uploading files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.
Hartley was charged with one count of crimes against nature, one count of animal torture, one count of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated distributing/promoting, one count child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of unauthorized access – computer system. Hartley was arraigned in the 73A District Court on Thursday, June 18.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit ICAC Task Force was assisted by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office and the Sanilac County Drug Task Force during the investigation and search of the residence.
