The Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission, stands as a beacon of advocacy, inclusion and celebration for Michigan's diverse LGBTQ+ community. The commission's charge is to ensure equal representation, amplify voices and foster a state where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feels affirmed and valued.
The 15-member council will advise the department on issues relating to the Arab and Chaldean communities in Michigan and promote awareness of their culture and history

David Sanchez serves as Senior Director of Government Affairs at Planned Parenthood of Michigan, where he leads the organization’s government affairs strategy and works with state and local leaders to protect access to sexual and reproductive health care across Michigan. A lifelong Detroiter, David has built his career in government, public policy, advocacy, and community leadership. He currently serves on the Detroit Board of Ethics and the board of Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development (LA SED).
