Governor Whitmer is focused on growing Michigan's economy, creating good-paying jobs, and lowering costs for families by delivering on the kitchen-table issues.

Collaborated with Republican and Democratic partners in the legislature on hundreds of bipartisan bills.

Signed legislation to save half a million households an average of $1,000 per year.

Signed legislation to deliver a combined $3,800 refund to 650,000 working families in Michigan.
Restored workers' rights to more effectively bargain together for fair wages, benefits, and safer working conditions. 
Through the end of this construction season, Michigan has fixed more than 24,500 lane miles of road and 1,900 bridges, supporting more than 118,000 jobs. 
Invested over $4.6 billion to upgrade water infrastructure, expanded high-speed internet to tens of thousands of homes and businesses, and made the largest investment in state and local parks in Michigan history.
Since Governor Whitmer took office, Michigan has announced over 35,000 good-paying auto jobs building cars and components. 
Closed the funding gap between schools in Michigan without raising taxes. Strengthened mental health supports in schools and helped recruit more talented Michiganders to be teachers. 
Delivered free breakfast and lunch to all of Michigan’s 1.4 million public school students.
Expanded access to free pre-K and community college to every Michigander, saving up to $35,000 over a lifetime and putting kids on a path to success.
Set up Michigan Achievement Scholarship, lowering annual cost of college by thousands for eligible students. Launched Michigan Reconnect to offer a tuition-free path to higher education or skills training for any Michigander 21 and up.
Expanded access to low or no-cost child care to 150,000 more kids and their families. 
Extended Healthy Michigan to over 1 million people.
Invested $1.6 billion to protect public safety across 5 bipartisan budgets.
Paid down $25.4 billion in debt through end of FY26, brought rainy day fund to an all-time high, signed 7 fiscally responsible state budgets.
