WHEREAS, on Thursday, April 25th to Saturday, April 27th, Detroit and the State of Michigan are proud to host hundreds of thousands of attendees for the 2024 NFL Draft, showcasing the vitality, culture, and beauty of our state; and,
WHEREAS, Detroit Lions from around the country will be eagerly watching the NFL Draft in support of the team as they work to bolster their roster and build towards a successful future, demonstrating their commitment to excellence on and off the field; and,
WHEREAS, the Detroit Lions' achievements serve as a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and unwavering Detroit spirit. Their commitment to success and community exemplifies the values cherished by the people of Michigan; and,
WHEREAS, it is only fitting to honor and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the Detroit Lions, as Michiganders proudly proclaim their allegiance to the Honolulu Blue and Silver; and,
WHEREAS, we encourage every Michiganders attending the NFL Draft today to wear Honolulu Blue to show our Lion's pride to the world;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 25th, 2024, as Honolulu Blue Day in Michigan and encourage Michiganders to sport the Honolulu Blue and Silver today in support of our mighty Lions. Go Lions!
