WHEREAS, vehicles are significant investments and require regular care and service to ensure optimal durability; and,
WHEREAS, vehicles are often washed once every three weeks to remove dirt, dust, and grime and avoid damage from salt and other substances, as well as prevent the formation of rust; and,
WHEREAS, motorists who are commuters or frequent travelers may require additional car care due to more recurrent exposure to both road debris and natural elements; and,
WHEREAS, the owners and operators of car wash and car care facilities throughout the state of Michigan have demonstrated standards of professionalism by retaining the proper credentials, providing quality services, and appropriately addressing the needs of their customers; and,
WHEREAS, Car Wash Day lends Michigan the opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of regular car washes among vehicle owners; and,
WHEREAS, National Car Wash Day reminds Michiganders that regular and proper vehicle care is crucial to the longevity of vehicles;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim July 14, 2023, as Car Wash Day in Michigan.
