Chief Deputy Director
Laura Hall serves as DIFS’ Chief Deputy Director and is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operations and implementation of management policies for all areas of DIFS. Prior to this role, Ms. Hall served as the Communications Director and Public Information Officer at DIFS for more than four years, and the Director of Policy, Communications, and Engagement at the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential.
Before joining the State of Michigan in 2020, Ms. Hall served in strategic communications roles at organizations that include the Michigan Health & Hospital Association and Sparrow Health System. She started her career as a reporter at the Flint Journal and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Oakland University.
