How to locate an insurance agent?
To locate an insurance agent in Michigan, you can:
- Use the DIFS Locator.
- Call 877-999-6442, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm to verify a person's licensure status.
To view the Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) for a licensed business entity, you can use the Insurance Agency Locator. You should enter the business entity's 7-digit Michigan System ID Number, click on the entity name, and then click on the Individual Associations link.

Can you email me a copy of my license?
Licenses cannot be printed, and we cannot email or fax a copy of licenses. We only mail licenses. However, current license information may be viewed online via the DIFS Locator Tool on our website. Information on the Locator Tool is updated in real-time and can be used as proof of licensure.
If you would like a license mailed to you, we must verify that the addresses on record with us are correct. If you would like a copy of your license mailed to you, please email DIFS-Licensing@michigan.gov verifying the following:

- Residential address
- Business address
