Substance Use
The misuse of substances and substance abuse disorders are very common issues impacting many individuals and their concerned family members. It can be an overwhelming and often devastating experience for all involved. The good news is that there is much information and many resources available to assist employees and their family members with general education, prevention strategies, treatment options, and recovery supports.
In addition to the information and resources found on the links below, Employee Service Program (ESP) counselors provide no-cost, confidential assistance to all State of Michigan employees and their eligible family members. ESP counselors can provide screening, assessment, and referral to appropriate substance use disorder treatment if needed. ESP Counselors may be contacted at 800-521-1377, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
