2026 IIC Awards

The 2026 Integrated Infrastructure Conference (IIC) will feature an awards ceremony on the second day of the conference honoring explementary Asset Management practices across the state. The following awards will be presented at this year’s event on behalf of Michigan’s Asset Management Councils:

  • Organizational Achievement Award

    The TAMC has established the Organizational Achievement Award to acknowledge those agencies that have incorporated the principles of asset management and adopted an asset management plan to help guide their investment decisions. In addition, the TAMC Awards Program provides agencies around the state with excellent examples to establish their own programs and practices. All Public Act 51 road agencies are eligible to be nominated for this award.

    Carmine Palombo Individual Achievement Award

    The TAMC wants to recognize individuals providing outstanding support of Asset Management and the TAMC. Nominees for the Carmine Palombo Individual Achievement Award can include elected officials (state or local), support staff from state agencies, regional and metropolitan planning organizations, county road agencies, local units of government, the education community or other individuals involved in promoting asset management in Michigan.

    Culvert Data Collection and Asset Management Excellence Award

    The TAMC seeks to honor agencies or individuals that have significantly contributed to advancing culvert management practices in Michigan, ultimately enhancing transportation infrastructure resilience and sustainability.

     

    Nominations for all TAMC Awards are due no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to Sarah Plumer, TAMC Coordinator, splumer@hrcengr.com.

  • Organizational Achievement Award

    The Council will consider Organizations and Collaborations across Water Agencies that have participated in the WAMC Asset Management Surveys and have demonstrated Outstanding excellence in improving or accomplishing asset management objectives that demonstrate a commitment to improving the condition and performance of assets with a focus on cost effectiveness and addressing the highest priority needs. Current and planned Improvements address the highest priorities of the water infrastructure, deploying cost effective and/or innovative strategies or improvement methods with sources of identified funding and anticipated funding levels sufficient through the planning period to finance the planned improvements. The award also recognizes collaboration among agencies that optimizes the use of public investment and advances shared objectives focused on critical asset improvements, long-term resilience, and reliable service delivery.The award also recognizes Organizations that demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practices, supporting peer communities, and advancing asset management knowledge and education across Michigan’s water sector.

    Individual Asset Management Achievement Award

    The Council will consider an individual whose Water Utility has participated in WAMC Asset Management Surveys and can demonstrate outstanding improvement or accomplishments in one or more Water Utility Asset Management Programs (AMPs). The individual demonstrates knowledge, expertise or advocacy that has resulted in the creation of, or significant enhancement of their Water Utility’s Asset Management Program in one or more program areas. The individual serves as a champion of asset management principles fostering a culture of continuous improvement, sustainability, and strategic stewardship within their organization and the state water sector. The individual is dedicated to raising awareness and advancing education across Michigan communities by promoting asset management best practices and encouraging long-term utility resilience. The individual has advocated for innovations that will allow for data driven decisions, supported by improvements in condition assessment methods, technology and/or AM practices and/or historical asset condition data trend analysis to support priority setting. The individual has advocated for public engagement and feedback regarding asset management in their community. The AM process has incorporated the public feedback into the Utility’s asset AMP with necessary funding approved to accomplish the identified improvements.  

     

    The award is given out biennially at the Integrated Infrastructure Conference and is selected by Michigan’s Water Asset Management Council members. 
  • Asset Management Ambassador Award

    The Asset Management Ambassador Award is an individual achievement award created to recognize the leadership and exceptional work in accelerating asset management practices across Michigan, aiming to provide a higher quality of life for all Michiganders.

     

    The award is given out biennially at the Integrated Infrastructure Conference and is selected by Michigan Infrastructure Council members.
